May: Mental Health Awareness Month
Sunday May 12, 2024
Sunday May 12, 2024
Welcome to Episode 7 of the Faith Infusion Podcast, with your host, Minister Demetria Lea. This episode focuses on the importance of discussing and acknowledging mental health within the religious community. In honor of Mental Health Awareness Month, we engage with the often-taboo subjects of depression, anxiety, and other mental health challenges and encourage open dialogue and acceptance within the church.
In this episode, we bust myths about depression being a sin and declare that it's a legitimate illness. We argue against the harmful notion that mental illness is a failure or lack of faith and insist that no one should face judgment or stigma for suffering from any form of illness. We touch upon how the sinful, broken world has led to physical and mental illness and how God, who deeply cares for our well-being, wants us to seek hope, healing, and freedom.
We reveal how our mental health struggles are not random, but rather signals of unfulfilled desires and needs within us. We explore the root causes of these struggles and how they have been influenced by negative emotions, experiences, and relationships. By questioning and understanding the underpinnings of our mental health struggles, we open doors to self-healing and the acceptance of love and safety.
We also delve into the reality of depression--a common but treatable mental health disorder--and assert that those struggling with it are not alone and should not feel ashamed. We impart personal experiences with depression and the path to seeking help and confronting the pain. You are reminded that you are not alone in your struggles and have a community of fellow sufferers, trustworthy friends, professional therapists, and above all, God, who is always watchful and has good things in store for your life.
We strongly emphasize that one's mental health matters greatly to God and should matter to you too. We urge listeners to take control of their lives, seek help when needed, and not let depression take a toll on them. We affirm that our struggles don't define our faith in God, but it's a part of the human struggle for all of us. We encourage you to be kind to yourself and remember that God wants you to be happy and free.
Join us as we journey towards understanding, acceptance, and healing in the journey of faith and mental health.

My Past isn't the Issue: It's my mind
Sunday Apr 28, 2024
Sunday Apr 28, 2024
Join Minister Demetria Lea on this eye-opening sixth episode of the Faith Infusion Podcast as we delve into the theme, 'My Past Isn't the Issue, It's My Mind.' In this episode, we confront the reality that acknowledging mistakes isn't about dwelling in the past—it's about recognizing the enemy's attempts to use our past against us.
The episode begins by acknowledging that Satan uses our past mistakes to sway our attention from God's plan. But we're reminded that every attack on the body begins with a thought in our minds. Embrace the truth that nothing Satan offers can compare to God's goodness and sufficiency. Understand that vigilance is crucial as we strive to lead a life that aligns with God's teachings.
In a practical sphere, we address issues we often neglect: money troubles, failing health due to irresponsibility, and poor relationship decisions. We need to be responsible to minimize the devil's opportunities. Learning from mistakes is an important part of God's process. It's about being alert, vigilant, and confident in Christ.
The episode delves deeper into the devil's role as our accuser, using mistakes and sins to bring us down. But we're reminded that our past does not define us. With God's unfathomable mercy, it doesn't matter how far we stray away, he's always ready to help us get back on track.
In the concluding section, Minister Demetria Lea encourages listeners to remain steadfast and resist the devil's lies with all their might. We don't have to become victims of the devil's schemes, and we aren't alone in these spiritual battles. Through unity in faith, we can conquer and emerge victoriously. Listen in for a week's worth of strength and assurance in God's promises against Satan's mind attacks.

"This isn't for the faint of heart: Trust Him."
Sunday Apr 14, 2024
Sunday Apr 14, 2024
Welcome to the fourth episode of the Faith Infusion Podcast where we immerse ourselves in the word of God. I'm your host, Minister Demetria Lee, and today, we delve into the concept of trust, specifically in the context of our relationship with God with an episode titled "This isn't for the faint of heart: Trust Him."
We explore the journey of life, a journey filled with ups and downs, twists and turns, and countless unexpected events. During such times, we emphasize the crucial role that trust in the unchanging character of God plays in providing a solid foundation when everything around us feels uncertain.
Trusting God means believing in His dependability, His Word, and His ability. It necessitates faith in Him being our constant source of support, our unwavering fulfilment of promises because His love for us is pure, and His plans for our lives are good.
As we traverse through times of upheaval and doubt, we remember that the Holy Spirit is always with us and He's watching over us. Trusting in God requires surrendering control to Him, acknowledging His superior knowledge of what's best for us. Our trust during uncertain times must reflect in our actions, in our obedience, and in holding onto His words of wisdom and guidance.
But trusting in God is not about denying our reality or feelings. It's about believing in and obeying God even when it's hard, even when we're hurt, even when we're lost. It's about communicating with Him through prayer, expressing all our emotions, all our fears, and all our joys.
Even as we stumble and struggle, remember that God is patient and kind with us. He comforts us in our times of sorrow, strengthens us in moments of weakness, and guides us through periods of doubt. As followers of Christ, we're reminded that God is with us; we're not alone. He is for us and with us, on our team, and cheering us on every step of the way.

Don't Hesitate, make the move to Tame your Tongue
Tuesday Apr 09, 2024
Tuesday Apr 09, 2024
Welcome to episode 3 of the Faith Infusion Podcast with your host, Minister Demetria Lea. This episode focuses on the power of our words and the journey to taming our tongues.
We delve into the importance of understanding our words' weight and the harm they can cause if not used wisely. Bearing Ephesians 4:29 in mind, which champions wholesome talk that builds others up, can help guide our speech.
We discuss the personal journey of understanding when words can hurt and the crucial role of prayer and deliberate effort in promoting positive speech. We also explore the Biblical perspective on this topic, turning to Proverbs 18:21 to see the vital influence our words can have on our lives.
Being aware of the problem isn't enough; making an intentional effort to think before we speak and watch our words' tone can make a noticeable difference in our lives. Evaluating our words, topics of conversation, and how much space we give to others in conversation will also aid this.
A crucial part of this conversation is the call to evaluate the state of our hearts. As per Matthew 12: 34-35, our speech reflects our hearts. Thus, we must be clean to truly tame our tongues, our hearts, and the reservoir filled with our beliefs, thinking, and emotions.
We wrap up with a reflection on Romans 3:10 and Romans 12:2, contemplating how conforming to the world can be harmful. The episode aims not to shame but to support listeners on their journey to controlling their speech, encouraging them through the inevitable trials they may face.
Join us on this spiritual journey as Minister Lea shares personal insights. Don’t forget to add Psalms 19:14 to your daily devotions to support you in this process.

Misinterpretation: Why can't you come as you are?
Friday Apr 05, 2024
Friday Apr 05, 2024
Welcome to this enlightening episode of the Faith Infusion podcast, where your host, Demetria Lea, delves into the often misunderstood religious phrase, "Come as you are." This episode aims to comprehensively understand this term while debunking several associated misconceptions.
Demetria deciphers that "come as you are" bears testament to God's unconditional and boundless love and acceptance of us, irrespective of our faults and imperfections. It conveys that one should not be "worthy" to approach the divine.
The phrase is not merely about physical appearance or attire; it proffers an invitation to bring our guilt, shame, sin, and brokenness to God. This doctrine instills the necessity of acknowledging our sinfulness and embracing God's grace rather than trying to earn it through righteous deeds.
This episode pioneers down the path of deeply spiritual transformations which occur when one approaches God just as they are. It discusses the profound changes one experiences post-spiritual rebirth, leading to a willingness to depart from sin and lead a holy life.
In conclusion, approaching God "as you are" isn't about changing oneself before God, but about accepting His love and grace despite our imperfections. This is not an invitation for the strong, but for the weary and burdened, extending them the privilege to find rest in His love.
This insightful discourse by Minister Lea emphasizes the responsibility of owning up to our Christian beliefs and being honest about our shortcomings. It throws light on the potential pitfalls of a religious entitlement mentality and encourages the pursuit of genuine spiritual transformation.
Demetria's sermon serves as a formidable reminder of God's love, mercy, power of transformation, and the potential consequences of a disobedient lifestyle. Be ready to reclaim your faith and embrace your spiritual journey as Minister Demetria shares timeless wisdom and biblical truths in these tumultuous times.
